STULZ-PLANAQUA signs contract in Estonia for an extension of a wastewater treatment plant
Contract Signing on 14th of April 2011 by Martin Stulz (Managing Director STULZ-PLANAQUA GmbH) and Toomas Kapp (CEO Tartu Veevärk)
On behalf of the Joint Venture STULZ-PLANAQUA GmbH / Skanska EMV AS, the leader STULZ-PLANAQUA signed a 6.5 Mio EURO contract with the Public Water Company “Tartu Veevärk” for the extension of the urban wastewater treatment plant (120.000 PE) in Tartu, Estonia. The designed-build project according to FIDIC standard is co-financed by the European Cohesion Fund.
In the frame of this contract the Joint Venture will build in 18 months a sludge digester with gas purification treatment and sludge dewatering units. The sludge process is designed for co-treatment of municipal wastewater sludge and other raw components.
The extension of the plant will lead to better environmental and economic conditions in the sensitive area of Tartu. The sludge will be hygienically safe without chemicals and unpleasant smell. The digestion produces surplus energy for the existing plant.
