Technical details “Bio-Container”

The polluted waste water is directed into a collection tank and fed in by a pumping station of the container plant.

The raw water is mechanically pre-cleaned by a sieve screen. The screenings are fed into a bagging unit.

Sedimentation by tube-bundle clarifier

Another mechanical pre-treatment is performed in the following sedimentation stage. By using STULZ-PLANAQUA tube-bundle clarifiers, good sedimentation of undissolved, essentially inorganic materials (primary sludge), is achieved at a minimum area requirement.

The subsequent biological treatment takes place in a multi-stage cascade. Each module of the cascade has a so-called submerged fixed bed. This serves as a growth surface for the microorganisms.

The microbial degradation of contaminants to the oxygen needed is introduced via fixed-bed packs positioned directly below the ventilation system.
